NEW YORK: The fiftieth entry for the seniors housing Global Award for 2015 has been received.
The ex-hotel will be home to 69 apartment dwellers, two shops and a cafe.
It was originally called the Great Southern Hotel, before becoming the Beaumaris Hotel in the 1920s.
A fire wrecked a large section of the building in 1944 before it was rebuilt in 1950.
In recent times it changed name again to the Beaumaris Pavilion and was bought about 10 years ago by an aged-care developer…
