Saltcoats professor launches new book on dementia

NEW YORK: A new book on dementia by a Saltcoats professor made headlines last week.

Former Ardrossan Academy pupil June Andrews is now an internationally renowned professor of dementia studies at the University of Stirling.

She appeared on TV news last week when the launch of her new book Dementia – The One Stop Guide caused front page news in national newspapers.

Although written to help families to help themselves and relieve the burden on the NHS, it was represented as an attack on the NHS.

Professor Andrews now advises governments, organisations and individuals worldwide, most recently in Canada, the USA, Hong Kong and Saudi Arabia.

She has already co-authored a book on dementia entitled 10 Helpful Tips For Carers…
