LOS ANGELES: Ted Gooding used space-saving recreational vehicle (RV) concepts for the inside of his model when he developed the first micro-housing unit he hopes will proliferate and provide permanent housing for those without a home of their own.
The pilot home is just 250 square feet, about the size of a one-car garage or a big garden shed, yet for someone living outside in a tent, the micro house would be heaven.
Gooding bought the shell and his staff completed the inside fixtures and appliances. “It’s a home for less than $10,000,” he said. “Of course, it has to be hooked up to electric and water, but it’s all wired, and the plumbing is done.”
Gooding said construction of the house was done in two weeks.
