CHICAGO: The tourism industry is adjusting faster than the seniors housing sector to cater to the over 50s “pet” market.
Affordable housing providers have capitalized on the new-found demand by creating pet-friendly tourist parks at Kirra and Jacob’s Well.
Kirra Tourist Park resident manager Scott Berryman said pet lovers made up an important component of the park’s long term clientele.
“There are a lot of older people who travel with their dogs and we provide places to walk them and even hand out doggie doo-doo bags,” he said.
