Lego housing to accommodate multi generational living

MIAMI: In a matter of years everyone could be living in Lego-style houses with children being mainly taught outdoors. This is how experts from one university believe cities should progress.

A series of innovative proposals have been published in a new report aimed at transforming cities to make them inclusive to all ages.

Other ideas include no cars, on-demand buses, trust between strangers being built up through a range of schemes and radical approaches to flooding issues, including the development of boat and water transport.

The report also supports building Lego-style homes to relieve pressures on housing.

This would see dwellings being constructed out of pods and modules that can be adapted to change with our lifestyles.

As children leave home or elderly parents move in, the housing arrangements could be changed; one section becoming bigger or smaller…
