Downtown apartments to be switched to senior living

CHARLOTTE: An historic hotel is to switch from low-cost housing to senior apartments under a plan set for approval.

The 74-unit project will be restored and renovated to accommodate 98 beds serving seniors with memory care issues, such as Alzheimer’s and assisted living.

The developer, who bought the three-story residential hotel in 2010, said he hopes to have the project ready by early 2017.
