But evidence is mounting that age-apartheid compounds are increasingly becoming soft crime targets and the care sector is trashing its reputation by doing nothing to effectively counter the growing threat:

A skilled nursing home has been stopped from operating because it was “dangerous” and “dirty”, a health watchdog said.

The report said “managers had a poor understanding” of their duties and there were insufficient staffing levels. The skilled nursing home provider has 28 days to challenge the decision.
