Third of seniors housing tenant data is inaccurate

PORTLAND: More than a third of data that seniors housing operators hold on tenants is inaccurate or missing, according to a tech supplier to the housing sector.

The supplier said that about 35 per cent of tenant-supplied data is either inaccurate, out of date or missing. The firm’s analysis of data held by 40 seniors housing operators found, for example, that 0.5 per cent of named tenants were in fact deceased.

Meanwhile, 40 per cent of seniors housing operators still hold some data in paper files which can be left as ‘dead’ information in filing cabinets, he added. There is also the risk of it being miscopied into digital records.
