CHICAGO: Plans for a regeneration of a marina look set to include seniors housing.
A ‘masterplan’ application is being developed while a previous application has been withdrawn.
The outline plans, covering a 22 hectare site, which include proposals to build up to 160 new homes, new retail and marine leisure facilities, and a residential skilled nursing home, have been years in the making.
The 160 multigenerational homes would be a mix of houses and apartments along with non-food and food retail stores, offices as well as pubs, bars and restaurants.
There are up to 70 new marina boat berths included in the plans as well as marina related leisure, boat repairs/sales and a replacement boat yard.
