Seniors housing developers compete for Global Award

trophy1 NEW YORK: The eleventh entry for the seniors housing Global Awards 2016 has been received.

Edina City Council wants to recommend a “vibrant multigenerational facility that meets the current and future needs of residents, adds to community value, sense of place and identity, combines resources and replaces aging and dated facilities and programs.”

The proposed redevelopment, which has been in talks for almost two years, could possibly be entirely a community site, a community and private site, or depending on what the study finds, sold to another group for redevelopment.

The current site plan, on which the city council agreed upon in September, would be a community centre to house arts, visual media studios, public galleries, flexible community spaces, café and other services to replace outdated facilities.
