Seniors housing developers compete for Global Award

NEW YORK: The five hundred and sixty-sixth entry for the seniors housing Global Awards for 2015 has been received.

The first designs of 193 proposed homes on a former school site in Ifield have been revealed after a planning application to carry out the substantial building work was submitted.

Barratt Homes has formalised its plans to build the homes, ranging from one-bedroom apartments to family sized properties.

The development, on the now derelict former Ifield Community College site off Lady Margaret Road, also includes public open space.

It will be made up of 77 houses, two maisonettes, seven coach house style homes and 107 apartments.

The house builder has committed to meet Crawley Borough Council’s policy of 40 per cent of properties in new developments being affordable housing – in this case 77 homes.
