Seniors housing developers compete for Global Award

NEW YORK: The five hundred and forty-fifth entry for the seniors housing Global Awards for 2015 has been received.

Desperately needed affordable housing is to be built in Withernsea, after the go-ahead was given for a £2.8m new development.

The project will see the demolition of the outdated Wesley Court, a 1970s building off Queen Street, to make way for 22 new affordable homes.

The scheme, which will get under way later this summer, will become part of East Riding Council’s housing stock in the town.

It comes after the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) gave the go-ahead for the project, for which it has contributed £600,000.
