Seniors housing developers compete for Global Award

NEW YORK: The four hundred and eighty-first entry for the seniors housing Global Awards for 2015 has been received.

The award-winning designer Chris Tate uses his distinctive “Tent House”, located near Ostend village, as a design base for his architecture work in New Zealand.

The design features a spiral staircase to a mezzanine bedroom, an open plan kitchen and dining area leading out to a large deck, and a fire pit and spa pool.

Tate said the retreat’s appeal was as much about the surroundings as the house itself.
