NEW YORK: The four hundred and seventy-fourth entry for the seniors housing Global Awards for 2015 has been received.
Henry Ford Health System and American House Senior Living Communities have partnered on a project that puts elderly residents close to health care, senior activities, and local businesses.
The American House Grosse Pointe Cottage senior living community opened last week in Grosse Pointe Farms.
The project was built by REDICO, which retrofitted part of Henry Ford Cottage Hospital into modern housing. Downstairs are medical services. Within a block of the residence and hospital at 131 Kercheval Ave. is Services for Older Citizens, a nonprofit that offers activities, companionship and many forms of assistance to seniors.
