Seniors housing developers compete for Global Award

NEW YORK: The four hundred and seventy-third entry for the seniors housing Global Awards for 2015 has been received.

The Santa Clarita City Council has given the go-ahead for an affordable housing project in Newhall that would place 30 apartment units on a vacant piece of city-owned property that’s currently being used as a park-and-ride lot.

The move was in response to a report identifying a need for over 5,700 low- and moderate-income housing units for area residents, said Erin Lay, housing program administrator for Santa Clarita.
