Seniors housing developers compete for Global Award

NEW YORK: The three hundred and fifty-fifth entry for the seniors housing Global Awards for 2015 has been received.

An Indian state housing ministry has decided to construct as many as 50,000 affordable houses, which will be bigger and better with more amenities. The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) will sell the houses in the next five years.

The government is mimicking Singapore where a majority of its residents buy government-built houses.
