NEW YORK: The three hundred and twenty-fifth entry for the seniors housing Global Award for 2015 has been received.
An 18-story building that resembles a stack of brightly colored boxes is taking shape.
Dubbed The Icon, the $110 million apartment block was designed to be a striking landmark welcoming people. Artist Matthew Johnson worked with Jackson Clements Burrows Architects to produce the design featuring violet, indigo blue, moss green and luminous yellow.
The building will be finished later this year but all 119 units, ranging in price from $420,000 to $2 million-plus, have been sold.
