NEW YORK: The two hundred and eighty-fifth entry for the seniors housing Global Award for 2015 has been received.
A trust is overseeing the development of new housing for people with an intellectual disability.
Project Independence is a registered charity founded by Canberran and Aspen Medical managing director Glenn Keys.
Mr Keys’ 21-year-old son Ehren has an intellectual disability and the project stems from his own experiences with his son who lives in the family home.
Mr Keys said in total three houses have been built in Harrison, Latham and Phillip, each featuring independent living for 10 adults as well as live-in support workers.
