NEW YORK: The two hundred and sixty-third entry for the seniors housing Global Award for 2015 has been received.
American Savings Bank is helping low-income seniors and families in Hawaii get into three affordable housing communities on Kauai and Oahu, two of which were recently completed.
The bank is the single largest local investor in the first phase of Rice Camp Senior Housing, a 60-unit affordable housing community for seniors in Lihue, Kauai.
Rice Camp will provide affordable housing for seniors age 62 and older who are within 60 percent of the area median income limit, which is $38,160 annual income for one person and $43,620 for two people.
The project was a collaboration involving the Kauai County Council, the county housing agency, the federal government and other agencies and companies.
