WASHINGTON, D.C.: The state’s top official in charge of care for aging Pennsylvanians says they do better at home than in nursing homes.
“You all know it — aging in place is what people want,” Secretary of Aging Teresa Osborne said.
Until 2029, those in the baby boomer generation will continue to hit age 65 every day. In doing so, they slide into an age bracket that receives a substantial amount of public funding. In Pennsylvania, which currently has the fourth highest percentage of citizens over 60 nationwide, that means public assistance dollars must stretch further…….
