GRAFTON: Pulte Homes of New England agreed to pay Grafton $1.3 million after settling the town’s claim that the developer hid profits on the Hilltop Farms affordable-housing development.
Under the settlement agreement, neither party acknowledged wrongdoing or liability. The settlement was “solely in order to avoid the cost and expense of protracted litigation.”
Grafton voters at town meeting in October approved spending $150,000 to pursue the lawsuit against Pulte.
Town Administrator Timothy P. McInerney said earlier that the state inspector general found in 2011 that Pulte Homes of New England LLC hid approximately $8.5 million in excess profits from the Hilltop Farms condominium project…
