HOUSTON: A test for early-stage Parkinson’s disease could help medics diagnose the disease earlier, improving treatment for sufferers.
Trials on a small group of people have revealed a molecule linked to the brain condition can be detected in samples of spinal fluid.
The test, which experts have said is ‘hugely promising’, determines how sticky a protein molecule is – and could improve treatment prospects for people suffering with the neurodegenerative condition.
