Private firms getting up to 100% of profits from hospital parking

NEW YORK: Private firms are profiting from extortionate hospital parking fees an investigation has revealed.

Nearly half of hospital trusts hire private firms to run their car parks and collect fees.

Depending on local arrangements, these firms take anything from a tenth to 100 per cent of the money made each year.

The disclosures will dismay patients and relatives who have always been told the money is essential to improve services and pay frontline staff…
