Old hotel to be turned into psychiatric hospital

PHOENIX: A hospital will soon start to renovate an old hotel and conference center. When it opens in the summer of 2016, it will be the city’s newest psychiatric hospital.

The CEO said the new hospital will not be a long-term treatment center but rather a short stay facility, with most visits lasting about a week.

“One of our criteria for patients [to stay] is that they must be improving from care,” he said…
