BOSTON: Head injuries caused in a car accident, fall or being attacked can age your brain by around five years, according to new research.
People who have suffered serious head injuries showed changes in brain structure resembling those seen in older people.
Head injuries are already known to increase the risk of dementia and researchers hope the new study can be used to help identify people likely to develop such problems.
