Future of retirement report analyzes baby boomers aspirations

TUCSON: A global bank has released its research findings into the future of retirement.

Sixteen thousand people were surveyed in 15 markets worldwide to understand the issues associated with aging populations and increasing life expectance globally.

Part of the research focuses on the preferred countries for over 50s migration and the aspirations of a new retirement generation.

The key findings of the report included:

2. More than half (54%) of working age people who plan to semi-retire want to stay in the same job or career but work fewer hours. Among those who have already had a period of semi-retirement, almost one in 10 (9%) put this down to no longer being able to find full time employment.

This trend will be covered in detail in the Over 50s Housing Trends Seminar.
