BALTIMORE: A major educational institution is planning to adopt a new ‘all-gender’ housing policy that allows students to live with whomever they want instead of being restricted to rooming with someone of the same gender.
Unlike co-ed dorming, which assumes that there are two genders, male and female, all-gender housing provides a more inclusive idea of diverse gender identities, officials said.
Applicants may include, but are not limited to those who identify as transgender or are questioning their gender identity and those who do not wish to adhere to prescribed gender classifications.
