Developing healthy brain is target of worldwide campaign

PORTLAND: Brain awareness has become a global campaign to increase public understanding and support for brain research.

The campaign is focused on brain health and usage.

There are eleven exercises that, if regularly undertaken, can improve brain capacity.

5. Swap hands: Nearly everyone has a dominant hand, but try to focus on the weaker one. So if you’re left-handed, do your teeth or pick up your tea with your right hand (and vice versa). “Doing day-to-day activities with your ‘other’ hand can drive your brain to make positive changes as it requires the brain to pay close attention to a normally unconscious behavior. This stimulates interaction between the two hemispheres of the brain, meaning new neural pathways develop,” Dr Shaw explains.
