WASHINGTON, D.C.: Brain awareness has become a global campaign to increase public understanding and support for brain research.
The campaign is focused on brain health and usage.
There are eleven exercises that, if regularly undertaken, can improve brain capacity.
3. Listen to music: While watching too much TV can dull brain programming, listening to some tunes does quite the opposite, says Dr Shaw. “Research shows that music can lower stress hormones that impede memory and increase feelings of well-being”.
If you want to be really clever, memorize the lyrics while you’re at it. “It boosts levels of acetylcholine in your brain. Aetylcholine is a neurotransmitter which plays a key role in projecting axons (nerve fibers) into many areas of the brain,” she says.
