PHILADELPHIA: The family of an elderly woman with dementia has urged a retirement housing group to stop charging her rent, after claiming she now lives full time in a skilled nursing home.
She was moved into care three months ago.
The firm said it has met with the resident, who is willing to return to her own flat, and that they have not received enough information to suggest she could not do so.
But her son says she is often confused and cannot manage on her own.
He said: “She can hardly stand, but in their mind she’s going back to the flat. I can’t get my head round all this. We’ve been driven mad.”…
