SAN FRANCISCO: Families who adopt foster kids need a lot of support. A new support program called Hope Meadows has evolved to support older adults who’ve moved just for that purpose.
One family has definitely benefited from this arrangement. One senior has adopted four siblings from foster care.
“It’s a good thing that they all got to stay together,” she says. “They were talking about having to split ’em all apart and send them to different places until I told them I wanted all of ’em.”
