Co-operative housing trend on the rise

arrow-up_pro_narrow_croppedDALLAS: With new housing properties popping up throughout the city, experts say a new trend could offer luxurious-feeling apartments at affordable prices.

A Community Housing Group is developing a number of co-ops.

Residents are members because there’s no landlord and the building members make decisions on how things are run.

“The people who live here actually have a say in how things are run both kind of on a day-to-day basis but more big picture type of stuff,” said a founding member.

Building members have a say in matters such as the yearly budget, future events, projects and amenities.
