Care costs could equate to value in your home says report

LOS ANGELES: The government is ‘quietly’ moving towards the philosophical position that all care costs of the elderly should be borne by the individual until the equivalent of the value of their home is exhausted.

Only after this point has been reached should any property owner become eligible for government support to cover care costs.

The boomer/elderly generations have 67 per cent represented as home owners…
