Assisted-living facility sued over woman’s alleged infested lesion

LOS ANGELES: An assisted-living facility is fighting to have a lawsuit against it dismissed and moved to arbitration to settle allegations that an elderly woman in its care was found to have live maggots in a scalp lesion.

In September 2012, according to court documents, a woman was visiting her mother and found live maggots in a lesion on her scalp, which the suit said regularly was bleeding or draining fluid.
