Alzheimer’s Research Suggest Immune System Disorder Might Be the Cause

SAN FRANCISCO: More Alzheimer’s research continues to expose new, interesting, and very important ideas about not only how we could potentially treat the condition but also what its origins may be. A new study appears to indicate that a simply immune system disorder may, at the very least, play a role in the development of the neurodegenerative disease.

The study showed that a drug known as difluoromethylornithine (DFMO) can block these immune cells from consuming the arginine, which prevents brain plaques and the memory loss traditionally associated with Alzheimer’s disease…
