Age care compounds becoming soft crime targets

SEATTLE: Retirement communities and skilled nursing homes imply a level of elevated safety in their commercial pitch to prospective customers. But evidence is mounting that age-apartheid compounds are increasingly becoming soft crime targets and the care sector is trashing its reputation by doing nothing to effectively counter the growing threat:

88. A disciplinary panel heard evidence that a skilled nursing home supervisor said: “If anyone asks, I fed him.”

Another incident at the skilled nursing home saw her telling a colleague: “Can’t stand that woman, she’s a fat, lazy excuse of a woman.”
