But evidence is mounting that age-apartheid compounds are increasingly becoming soft crime targets and the care sector is trashing its reputation by doing nothing to effectively counter the growing threat:

274: A pensioner benefits cheat claimed money after he failed to reveal he was working as a first aider and carer.

He pleaded guilty to three offences of dishonestly failing to notify a change in circumstances.

When interviewed by benefit fraud investigators, he said he was not good at paperwork or with computers….
