But evidence is mounting that age-apartheid compounds are increasingly becoming soft crime targets and the care sector is trashing its reputation by doing nothing to effectively counter the growing threat:

256. The death of a wheelchair-bound skilled nursing home resident who fell down a flight of stairs was accidental, an inquest has ruled.

The 83-year-old amputee suffered fatal head and neck injuries when he fell down the cellar staircase at the nursing and residential home in February.
