NEW YORK: The eight hundred and ninety-ninth entry for the seniors housing Global Awards for 2015 has been received.
A proposal for a five-storey, 68-unit assisted living and memory care building south of downtown Des Plaines is being revived.
The proposed 65,308-square-foot building at 959-997 Lee St. received approval from the city council in 2012. But according to property owner Esward Soske, financing for the project dried up and the approval expired.
Now, he’s seeking reapproval of a conditional use permit and height variation that would pave the way for demolition of existing one-storey buildings on site and construction of the new building to begin.
