Woman inspired by grandma to open new assisted living home

inspired lifeWASHINGTON, D.C.: At the age of 29, Sheena Fransway is using her supportive skills to serve others in space she can call her own. Fransway said she enjoys seeing people smile and conversing with them.

Her early success came after an early start of grief, loss and heartache. At 12 years old, Fransway lost her mother to ovarian cancer and her grandma, Agnes Ackerlund, stepped in for her care. “That was very hard and very emotional. And, it was a really hard time in our life,” Fransway said. After her mother died, Fransway said she and her grandma became closer. “As hard as it was for her (Grandma Aggie), losing her daughter, I had lost my mum. And having each other, I needed her as much as she needed me,” Fransway said.

Turning trying times into learning lessons, Fransway graduated with her associates and bachelors degrees in business and health care administration and is set to open a new assisted living in…
