NEW YORK: Emergency housing for elderly victims of neglect, abuse and exploitation is being planned. A not-for-profit will provide a haven for seniors who are victims of domestic abuse, neglected by caregivers or who are financially exploited by family members.
Such safe places are a next step in the fight against elder abuse – driven by a better understanding of the vulnerability of older adults, along with a growing 65-plus population.
