WASHINGTON, D.C.: The app is aimed at providing cookery instructions to those with significant brain damage as part of the Welsh Government and UK Innovation funded Small Business Research Initiative (SBRI).
Dr Rudi Coetzer, Consultant Neuropsychologist with the North Wales Brain Injury Service and Project Sponsor for the SBRI Brain Injury Project, said: “Often, acquired brain injury can result in impairments which can be less visible, such as memory problems.
“These impairments can significantly affect a person’s ability to perform everyday tasks essential to maintaining their independence, such as preparing a meal.”
“This Project draws upon clinical and IT expertise to develop an assistive technology to help overcome some of these impairments”.
“They’ll work with the health board to develop their products, and will hopefully come up with an innovative solution which could make a real difference to the daily independence of people living with brain injuries”…
