Stress in old age could lead to early onset of Alzheimer’s

stressWASHINGTON, D.C.: A new study has suggested that stress may just be a contributor as far as mild cognitive impairment which may lead to Alzheimer’s disease in older people.

This study has been published in the Alzheimer Disease and Associated Disorders journal which claims older people who were subjected to higher amounts of stress are more than twice as likely to suffer from a cognitive problem as compared to those who are not under a lot of stress. Researchers took data from 507 adults older than 70 years of age who were all enrolled in the Einstein Aging Study in New York.
