NEW YORK: The seven hundred and twenty-first entry for the seniors housing Global Awards for 2015 has been received.
Sacred Heart Senior Residences, a 61-unit senior housing building planned at Fifth and Turner streets in Allentown, got final approval from the city’s planning commission Tuesday afternoon.
The developers still need variances from the Allentown Zoning Hearing Board, but intend to request them promptly.
Mark Buchvalt, the project’s engineer, predicted demolition of old homes in that block of Fifth Street could begin as soon as September, as a first step toward construction.
Pennrose Properties, the Philadelphia-based developer, hopes to begin construction before the end of this year and complete the project by late 2016…
