Seniors housing developers compete for Global Award

trophyNEW YORK: The six hundred and eighty-seventh entry for the seniors housing Global Awards for 2015 has been received.

Leigh’s rugby league club, Hilton Park, is set to become a village for older people.

The buildings were demolished in 2009 and the site was subject to a controversial planning application to build 100 homes.

That application by Miller Homes was rejected by Wigan council, but given the green light on appeal. But the developers then dropped the scheme.

Now specialist housing developer Mulbury Homes has unveiled the £17m plans to build a mix of bungalows and apartments on the five acre site which has been vacant since Leigh Centurions moved to their new ground at Leigh Sports Village…
