Seniors housing developers compete for Global Award

trophyNEW YORK: The five hundred and fifty-sixth entry for the seniors housing Global Awards 2016 has been received.

A new apartment complex for adults with learning and physical disabilities has opened in Kirkcudbright.

School Close is a specialist care service that offers tenants a life-enhancing living environment, promoting a more independent way of living.

The purpose-built supported living service is managed by national social care charity, Community Integrated Care, and developed by Loreburn Housing Association in partnership with Dumfries and Galloway Council.

Last week, it welcomed nine people who had previously been supported at Mansefield House, a residential skilled nursing home in the town.

The complex was specifically designed with the new tenants in mind, enabling them to lead more independent lives.

Loreburn secured funding for the project through the Scottish Government’s Affordable Housing Supply Program and Dumfries & Galloway Council.
