Seniors housing developers compete for Global Award

trophy NEW YORK: The five hundred and twenty-seventh entry for the seniors housing Global Awards 2016 has been received.

An undeveloped 8.46-acre commercial shopping tract could make way for a new, 110-bed assisted-living facility with a special wing dedicated to memory care support.

Newnan City Council members on Tuesday acknowledged a request from developer Dennis Drewyer to rezone the parcel located at Lower Fayetteville Road and Summerlin Boulevard from commercial to office-institutional.

Drewyer wrote that the Watercrest of Newnan facility would closely abide by all of the Quality Development Corridor requirements that govern the appearance and he would attempt to “capture the quality and character of our city within the architectural approach.” Residences would be tucked into one- and three-story wings, which would be connected by internal corridors to common areas.
