Melbourne designer houses have taken out a host of national architecture awards — but an apartment in Sydney has been crowned Australia’s best residence of 2016.
Two Melbourne projects and a Fitzroy-based architecture firm won four of the 10 categories at the 2016 Houses Awards, which reward cutting-edge contemporary architecture in houses, apartments and gardens.
Four other Victorian entrants received commendations at last night’s awards ceremony in Sydney.
