NEW YORK: The four hundred and fourteenth entry for the seniors housing Global Awards 2016 has been received.
New images of how New Addington’s new community and leisure centre will look have been released after the council has submitted a formal planning application for the development.
The council says the new building will lead to a “radical transformation” of the western side of Central Parade.
The centre will feature community spaces, state-of-the-art sport facilities, a 25-metre swimming pool, learner pool and a fitness suite, sport hall, crèche and studios.
The £17 million centre will also include two multi-purpose halls, a café, meeting rooms, offices and dressing rooms.
A stage will also be available for community shows and the ever-popular annual pantomime.
During a consultation, concerns were raised by locals that the plans would mean dozens of extra houses might be built on green land in Central Parade.
But the council says just eight “family” homes will be built fronting Chertsey Crescent.
