Seniors housing developers compete for Global Award

trophy NEW YORK: The one hundred and fifty-sixth entry for the seniors housing Global Awards 2016 has been received.

Developers want to put up 165 homes off Joannies Avenue and say half “affordable “. There will also be a community building, open space, play space, access and parking facilities.

But the plans hit opposition from locals and town officials, who were concerned at the loss of prime farming land.

Locals also objected on the grounds that it was too large and there were not enough affordable homes.

The issues have now been resolved.
